Thursford Fun Facts

·       2025 welcomes Thursford’s 48th annual show- how amazing is that!

·       Auditions for the show start end of January, February and are held in London.

·       The choreography process starts in April.

·       There are over 400 people who work tirelessly to put the show on.

·       Dancing auditions range from 340 hopeful entrees which have to be narrowed down to the final 23 with a reserve list of 10.

·       Of the 23, 18 dancers will have their own ‘track’ and 5 will be swings. Being a swing is arguably one of the most complicated roles on the stage as they need to learn all 18 dancer’s tracks for every number, they also cover illnesses and sickness, and they are known as their ‘superheroes’.

·       The choreography needs to be finalised by the end of August and ready for the preproduction which starts at the beginning of September, the show gets taught first to the dancers, then the singers and when the instrumentalists arrive on site in mid-October.

·       Before everyone comes together in October they would have spent from February to this moment rehearsing to bring the show together, it is simply incredible!

·       Then you have the speciality acts, costumes, lighting, sound which all together become the SPECTACULAR that we all get to experience!
